The first Rolex Submariner was brought into production in 1955. The Submariner 5512 was released just a few years later in 1959. This vintage watch comes with the original fat font insert and “Mark 1” maxi dial. It has a newer 93150 Oyster bracelet with 580 end links. The Stainless Steel case with rotatable black bezel holds an automatic 1570 movement. The Rolex Submariner 5512 featured a chronometer rating (unlike the more common 5513) and was the first Submariner model to use the now signature oversized crown. The Submariner 5512 is known to be the watch Steve McQueen wore. His sold in 2009 for $234,000! This 1979/1980 watch is perfect for anyone who wants a piece of Rolex history.
