The Rolex Submariner 5513 was in production for more than 25 years, ending in 1988. Initially it came with a glossy dial, but later examples switched to the matte dial and finally it switched back to the gloss dial where it added white gold surrounds to the hour markers giving the watch a much more modern look. In addition to the dial, you find the legendary 40 mm case, crown guards, and beveled lugs for which this reference is known, all adding to the mystique of the Submariner.
This particular timepiece is an “L” serial indicating a manufacturing date of 1989 marking it one of the last years this model was manufactured and is a great example of the later transitional models of the 5513. The gloss black dial has the white gold surround markers and is in beautiful shape. The hands have tritium luminous material and match the dial perfectly. The case is in good condition and has recently been polished and it shows off the sharp lug bevels very well. The newer bezel insert has a few slight scratches and shows proper signs of age. The 93150 bracelet is in excellent shape with minimal stretch. This piece is gorgeous and priced to move, make sure to grab this one!
