Pre-owned Tudor Ranger ref 79950 (2022) was released in 2022, just in time to commemorate 70 years since the British North Greenland Expedition in 1952. As the story goes, Tudor released the Oyster Prince, its first waterproof watch with a self-winding movement, that same year and supplied 26 of the watches to the expedition team. The expedition spanned two years, during which the Tudor Oyster Prince braved some of the harshest climates in the world. It was a demonstration of Tudor's watchmaking prowess and the inspiration for the Tudor Ranger, which really began to take shape a few years later in the 1960s. Fast-forward to 2022 and the latest expression of the highly capable, ready-for-anything field watch, which takes a lot of design cues from the Ranger watches produced during the 1960s. It features vintage-inspired dial furniture, an approachable 39mm case, and a COSC-rated caliber MT5402 self-winding mechanical movement.
