The inaugural reference 116688 has since been discontinued and remains a coveted collector's item for its polarizing design, investment potential, and place in Rolex history. It utilizes Rolex's proprietary 18k yellow gold, which is of the highest quality on the market and is expected to hold its value well alongside the price of gold. Developed for professional sailing, the Yacht-Master II pairs high style with a functional design set. The Ring Command bezel is built into the movement and gives the wearer access to the central hands and programmable countdown function.
