The Explorer was released in 1953 and was inspired by the feats of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay as they conquered the Himalayas. Designed for adventure, the Explorer comes equipped with a 39mm Oyster case with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a waterproof screw-down crown. This offers resistance to depths of up to 330 feet as well as temperatures ranging from -4 degrees Fahrenheit to +100 degrees Fahrenheit. This perfectly seals the calibre 3130 self-winding movement off from extreme elements to provide a highly reliable reading. The case is topped with a black dial with easy-to-read luminous batons, silvered Arabic hour markers, and sweeping hands. A sturdy Oyster bracelet made of resilient stainless steel and a Glidelock clasp provides a secure fit no matter where you choose to wear it.
