The 119th U.S. Open Championship is underway at Pebble Beach Golf Links in California, marking the sixth time that the gorgeous course in Monterey County has hosted the event. Over the next four days, golf’s top players will battle it out to win the U.S. Open Championship Trophy. Not only is the U.S. Open the third of the four major championships in golf, but also (as of this year), it has the largest purse of all four majors at $12.5 million.
Who will raise the trophy on Sunday evening and take home the winner’s share of $2.25 million? Odds are currently in favor of Rolex Ambassador Brooks Koepka, who if he wins, will have captured his third straight U.S. Open. Additionally, if he does win, we can’t help but wonder which Rolex watch will Koepka be wearing while holding up the trophy.
Brooks Koepka’s Past U.S. Open Wins and Rolex Watches
Koepka’s current dominance of the U.S. Open began in 2017 at the Erin Hills golf course in Wisconsin, when he beat out Hideki Matsuyama and Brian Harman by four strokes to claim the win. He took home the champion’s share of $2,160,000 for his victory – and on his wrist was the highly coveted, Rolex Daytona ref. 116500LN in stainless steel with a black ceramic bezel and white dial, which was released the previous year at Baselworld 2016.

The following year, Koepka did it again by winning the 2018 U.S. Open at the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in New York, beating Tommy Fleetwood by just one stroke. In addition to padding his bank account with another $2.16 million, Brooks held the U.S. Open Championship Trophy for the second time. His Rolex watch of choice for that trophy ceremony was the newest Rolex 50th Anniversary Sea-Dweller ref. 126600, which had made its debut at Baselworld 2017 as the first Sea-Dweller to feature a larger 43mm case.

What Rolex Will Brooks Koepka Wear This Year?
It still remains to be seen whether or not Koepka will win the 2019 U.S. Open. However, regardless of if he reaches the top of the leaderboard or not, the champion golfer and official Rolex brand ambassador will still strap a Rolex onto his wrist after the match, as is the tradition.
But which one will it be? We’re thinking it might be the Everose Sky-Dweller ref. 326935 he’s been sporting recently – the same one he wore when he proudly held the Wanamaker Trophy after his win at the 2019 PGA Championship at Bethpage Black in May (and the same one he wore after he lost out to Tiger Woods at the 2019 Masters).
We’ll just have to wait until Sunday afternoon to see who will be crowned the 2019 U.S. Open champion and if that winner will be wearing a Rolex on his wrist.
