Pre-owned Rolex GMT Master ref 16700 (1997 - 1998). Rolex developed the GMT collection in the 1950s as a dual-time tool watch for the pilots of the Pan American Company. At the time, the iconic airline was just beginning to offer transatlantic flights from New York to Paris. The innovative watch allowed their pilots to keep home time present on the bezel while reading the local time on the dial. The ref. 16700 is the last reference in the original collection before it was discontinued and replaced with the current GMT Master II. Its feature set includes a self-winding movement with a dedicated 24-hour hand, a desirable brushed stainless steel finish, and a dial topped with Luminova. This secondhand Rolex is in excellent condition and also boasts the collection's iconic two-tone Pepsi bezel with a red and blue insert.
