The ref. 114234 is a newer Rolex Air-King that was produced sometime between 2007 and 2008. Its feature set includes a striking White Rolesor finish of 18 karat white gold and 904L-grade Oystersteel, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal over the dial, a 31-jewel calibre 3130 automatic movement, and a dial topped with blue luminous baton and silver Arabic hour markers and central sweep hands. The ref. 114234 also features a new-style bracelet and case with an engraved rehaut and a reliable Oysterclasp. While many aspects of the original Air-King from the 1940s remain in the form of a time-only dial and a modest case, the ref. 114234 is undeniably modern, giving the wearer the best of both worlds.
