The Panerai PAM 237 is rumored to have been designed exclusively for actor Brad Pitt in a short run, making this watch extremely rare. Identical to the PAM 88 with exception of the black sub-seconds dial, the watch was never advertised nor did it appear in any Panerai literature. This watch's scarcity and elusiveness have caused it to become know as the "Ghost." A descendant of watches built for combat diving in the Italian Navy, optimal visibility in dark environments was key when designing this watch's dial. The black dial is set with large luminous index hour makers and hands, making the time highly visible. 24 hour markers circle the outside of the dial allowing the wearer to keep track of two time zones at once. Another feature that was inspired by its need for optimal functionality while in the water is the crown shield that protects the screw-down crown, prolonging its lifespan and watertight seal. A limited edition, this watch is numbered 172 out of 400. This incredible watch is an excellent find indeed!
