This Submariner is in great, vintage condition with wear consistent with age. The case is in good condition with normal signs of wear. The inside caseback is stamped "5513". The serial and reference numbers are visible. Between the lugs show some wear. The bezel ring has remained sharp and the bezel insert is in good condition with normal signs of wear and some scratches; it is a later service replacement. The "Swiss only" service dial is in great condition overall. The service hands are in excellent condition and the lume is matching to the lume on the dial. The stainless steel 93150 Oyster bracelet has 11 links, 593 end links, and is stamped "H," dating it to 1983. The bracelet is in overall great condition with some stretch between the links.
Pre-Owned Rolex Submariner ref 5513 (Circa 1979) was one of the longest continually produced references from the brand. Rolex initially used glossy dials in this model and swapped to matte around 1966. Rolex made many variations of the Submariner and this example was born with a matte dial, but went to Rolex for service and they replaced it with a later "Swiss only" service dial with white gold surrounding the lume plots giving it that late 1980s look.
It was very common for Rolex to change and update watches when they come in for routine service and that is exactly what happened to this watch. These all serviced up examples offer a great value and are ideal for daily wearers. This one with the "Swiss only" dial will still glow in the dark because of the SuperLuminova luminous material used. These offer the perfect blend of modern and vintage all wrapped into one.
