This GMT-Master is in great vintage condition with wear consistent with age. The case is in good condition with normal signs of wear. The inside caseback is stamped 1675. The serial and reference numbers are clearly visible between the lugs. The bezel is in great condition with light wear; it's a later replacement. The dial is overall great condition with light wear and patina. The lume on the dial has developed patina and aged to an attractive yellow color. The hands and hour markers have developed patina. The lume in the hands has aged a bit whiter than the lume on the dial. When looking closely, the lume in the hour hand shows some wear and a crack towards the base. This watch has a two-tone Oyster 62523 bracelet with 11 links and no. 450 end links. The clasp is stamped "A" indicating it is from 1976. The bracelet is in overall great condition with some wear and stretch between the links which isn't uncommon.
The GMT Master is Rolex’s signature pilot’s watch, complete with dual-time capabilities. It came to market in 1955, with ref. 1675 following shortly after in 1959. The reference 1675 is the second iteration of the original GMT Master and was offered in many variations. Rolex offered the 1675 in stainless steel, solid gold, and two-tone (steel & gold), like the example we have here today. Rolex offered the two-tone with a brown dial and brown & yellow or all brown bezel, or with a black dial and black bezel like the watch we are offering. This watch features an Oyster bracelet giving the GMT a bit of a less common look since we tend to see these more on jubilee.

The whole transaction process with Bob's is always top notch. The vintage watch was functioning as expected, the case is relatively strong with minimal polishing, and the dial is a beautiful service dial as expected.

I have worn this watch everyday for 47 years, had it cleaned every 8 or so years, had the bezel replaced with the new one back in the 80s. Paid $400 in Switzerland in 1970. This is the greatest lifetime deal ever!!
