This Rolex watch is in great vintage condition consistent with age. The stainless steel case is in good condition with normal signs of wear. The inside caseback is stamped: 1675 II.66. Serial and reference numbers are clearly visible. The beautiful red-back bezel is in great condition with some wear and even fading throughout. The date wheel is a later replacement with open 6's and 9's. The dial has remained glossy and is in overall very nice condition with some wear throughout. The lume has aged to an attractive yellow color and the hour marker at 12 has aged darker than the rest of the plots. The hands have developed patina. The lume in the hands has aged to a yellow color that matches the lume on the dial. The bracelet is in good condition with normal signs of wear and some stretch between the links. It features a stainless steel Oyster Rivet 9315 with 12 links, 280 end links, and an error divers extension stamped with a "Pateted" error. The clasp is marked 3/70, indicating it’s from 1970.
The GMT Master is Rolex's signature pilot's watch, complete with dual-time capabilities. It came to market in 1955, with ref. 1675 following shortly after in 1959. It's one of the most sought-after vintage Rolex watches on the secondary market because it's instantly recognizable with its 24-hour bezel and dedicated GMT hand. The Rolex 1675 was also notably the first GMT Master to use crown guards. The example we have here is from 1966 and features a glossy dial, this would be the last glossy dial variation before Rolex went to the matte dials.
