Vintage Watch Condition Examination
This Vintage Rolex watch is in overall excellent condition with light wear to the case and bezel consistent to age.
Vintage datejust Two Tone - 6609
Shortly after coming to market in the 1950s, a Rolex Turn-o-Graph made its way onto the wrist of a pilot in the US Air Force's Thunderbird team, a group of aerobatic pilots that performed in front of crowds. Rolex, being the marketing genius that they are, began to market their Turn-o-Graph as the Rolex Thunderbird. The ref. 6609 includes a desirable stainless steel finish, the line's signature 60-minute rotatable bezel, and a black dial topped with a silver display and an automatically changing date aperture. A similar ref. 6609 was notably given to Captain Charles W. Maultsby in the late 1950s. A rare and very fine example of the early-model Thunderbird, the ref. 6609 is a great addition to any luxury watch collection.
