This Submariner is in overall great, attractive vintage condition. The case is in good condition with normal signs of wear. The bezel ring has remained sharp and the bezel insert has some wear and faded throughout to a light grey color. The dial is in overall good condition with some darker patina around the edge. The lume on the dial has developed patina and aged to an attractive marshmallow color. Some of the lume plots have developed some darker patina. The hands have developed patina and the lume in the hands have also aged to a marshmallow color. The folded Oyster bracelet is in good overall condition with normal signs of wear and some stretch between the links which is not uncommon.
Pre-Owned Rolex Submariner ref 5513 (Circa 1977) was one of the longest continually produced references from the brand. Rolex initially used glossy dials in this model and swapped to matte around 1966. Rolex made many variations of the matte dial and this one has a feet first, "Pre-Comex" dial. A couple defining characteristics of these "Pre-Comex" dials are the specific wide-bottom coronet and depth rating above the word "Submariner."
This example has a great look, we love how the "ghost" bezel pairs so well with the marshmallow colored lume, it just works. This watch has that vintage look and feel so many collectors are looking for. It also comes with its box and punched papers which is always nice. If you are in the market for a "ghost bezel" 5513 this is worth considering!
