One of the last variations of the GMT Master is the ref. 16750, which was produced for a short time from 1981-1988. Replacing the 4-digit ref. 1675, this particular pilot's watch was responsible for upgrading the GMT Master to a movement with a Quickset feature. With this upgrade came a new order of the central hands to: hour, GMT hand, Minute, seconds. The main function of the GMT Master is to provide two readings simultaneously, a feature that is offered via a rotating 24-hour bezel over the case. While this feature was initially intended for use by the pilots of the Pan Am Company, it has since gained a massive following among collectors of all walks of life.
