This Submariner is in great vintage condition with wear consistent with age. The case is in good condition with normal signs of wear. The inner case back is engraved "1680". The serial and reference numbers are clearly visible. The bezel insert is in good condition with normal signs of wear and scratches; it has aged to a dark grey color throughout. The matte black dial is in great condition with some light patina. The lume plots on the dial have all aged to a pleasing buttery yellow color. The hands have developed patina and the lume matches the lume on the dial. It has a stainless steel 93150 Oyster bracelet with 11 links and no. 580 end links. The clasp is marked "VC" indicating it is from 1978.The bracelet is in overall good condition with some stretch between the links which is not uncommon for this style bracelet.
In the late 1950s, Rolex partnered with Tiffany & Co., making some of the most exclusive co-branded timepieces ever. These watches were sold exclusively at Tiffany & Co. boutiques, with the jeweler’s logo proudly displayed on the dial. Among these rare collaborations is the Rolex Submariner 1680, produced from 1967 to around 1980. With its Tiffany-stamped dial, the Submariner 1680 became a must-have for collectors. As the partnership ended around 1990, these Tiffany-marked watches have become increasingly rare and highly coveted in today’s market, making them a true collector’s gem.
