Rolex Datejust Turn-O-Graph 116263
The Datejust Thunderbird had an enormous influence on Rolex sports watch design since its introduction in 1953. In fact, it has been responsible for introducing the first rotatable bezel to the Rolex lineup, paving the way for other iconic sports watches such as the Submariner, GMT Master, and Explorer. Nicknamed the Turn-o-Graph, the rotatable bezel that accompanies the Datejust Thunderbird allows the wearer to measure increments of time, more specifically while flying. The modern 6-digit Datejust Thunderbird that is presented here today pays homage to the original design of the first model while offering some of the finest materials available today. The 36mm Oyster case, bezel, and Oyster bracelet are constructed of Rolex's signature "Yellow Rolesor", a combination of sturdy 904L stainless steel and 18 karat yellow gold. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, a waterproof screw-down crown, and an Oysterclasp offer durability against everyday wear. This reference features a masculine design with a slate dial topped with two-tone baton hour markers, sweeping hands with lume plots, a red date wheel, and a coordinating red seconds hands.
