Rolex OysterQuartz Day Date 19018 - Spanish Day Wheel
The Rolex OysterQuartz Day-Date ref. 19018 was produced during the Quartz Crisis of the 1970s, a time when demand for battery-powered watches was high and threatened to topple the Swiss watchmaking industry. To remain current, Rolex produced the OysterQuartz series which remained in production for about 25 years. During that time, only about 25,000 pieces were produced, with the Day-Date variation being among the rarest. The example that you see here today displays the day wheel in Spanish, making it even more rare. Its feature set also includes a unique angular case and an integrated-inspired bracelet that can still be removed and replaced if the wearer wishes.
