Omega has just announced two new watches to join its Tresor line of timepieces, and these new models are crafted from the brand’s proprietary 18k Moonshine gold alloy and feature brilliant green malachite dials. The Tresor range is part of the greater Omega De Ville collection, which is the brand’s line of dedicated dress watches, and while all De Ville models offer elegant designs, the Tresor is arguably the most formal and resplendent. Crafted from solid gold, set with diamonds, and fitted with stunning malachite stone dials, these new watches are arguably some of the most striking and luxurious models in the entire Omega De Ville Tresor collection.

About the Omega De Ville Tresor Collection
Despite having one of the largest and most diverse catalogs within the entire Swiss luxury watch industry, all Omega watches fall into one of four collections: Speedmaster, Seamaster, Constellation, and De Ville. While it was previously part of the greater Seamaster collection, Omega made the De Ville its own standalone collection of watches in 1967, and the range is now home to Omega’s most refined and elegant dress watch designs.
At the present time, the greater Omega De Ville collection consists of the following lines of watches: Ladymatic, Hour Vision, Prestige, Tourbillon, and Tresor. Although all of these sub-collections are inherently formal and dressy in their designs, the Tresor range is arguably among the most classical and formal, with many models featuring diamonds or solid gold cases.
Moonshine Gold and Malachite Dials
First unveiled in 2019, Moonshine gold is the name of Omega’s proprietary 18k yellow gold alloy that is specifically designed to be more pale than traditional yellow gold alloys, drawing its inspiration from shimmering moonlight in the dark sky. Additionally, Moonshine gold has also been designed to be highly resistant to the fading, and it will retain its signature color and lustre, despite receiving regular wear and exposure to the elements. The new Omega De Ville Tresor models make exceptional use of this proprietary gold alloy, both for the case of the watch and for the hands and Roman numeral hour markers on the dial.
The dial is the party piece of these new Omega Tresor watches, and features a domed design crafted from malachite and fitted with elegant, elongated Roman numeral markers. Malachite is a naturally-occurring mineral that is typically characterized by its brilliant green color and striped concentric lines that harmoniously run throughout the material. This is not the first time that Omega has created a dial from this unique stone material, with the previous instance being the solid yellow gold Seamaster 300 fitted with a green malachite dial and matching green bezel. However, the bright green tones of malachite offer an unusually colorful addition to the generally conservative Tresor range and pair wonderfully with the pale gold tones of the case.
The Omega De Ville Tresor Malachite Dial Watches
The new Omega De Ville Tresor watches with malachite dials are based upon the existing 36mm quartz platform, which means that they feature identical case proportions to their siblings with 18mm between the lugs and domed sapphire crystals. Similarly, this also means that powering them is the same Omega Caliber 4061 quartz movement, which has a “Long Life” feature to maximize the autonomy of its power cell, and granting it a battery life of approximately 48 months.
The two watches are identical, with the sole difference between them being that one is fitted with a green leather strap, while the other receives a matching mesh bracelet in 18k Moonshine gold. Additionally, like many of the other 36mm Omega Tresor watches, these new malachite dial models also feature 38 full-cut diamonds that curve along the sides of their bezels and lugs in an asymmetric design, which is a signature feature of the Tresor collection.
With solid 18k gold cases, flawless diamonds, and highly detailed malachite dials, these new Tresor watches are premium models within the greater De Ville collection and sit near the top of the 36mm Tressor range. Consequently, their retail prices reflect their extensive use of exclusive materials and fine craftsmanship. The version fitted with a matching green leather strap has an official retail price of $15,900 (at the time of launch), while the version with a matching Moonshine gold bracelet is priced at $31,800.
