Pre-owned Rolex GMT-Master ref 16700 (1996) was the last reference in the original GMT Master series before it was discontinued entirely to make way for the GMT Master II. It continued production alongside ref. 16710 for many years, and was positioned as a more affordable option because it lacked the independent GMT hand. As you can imagine, this iteration of the Rolex GMT is highly prized among people in the know as a last-of model and for the many upgrades it featured over the previous ref. 16750. The ref. 16700 introduced the GMT Master range to scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, a newer case, and white gold surrounds on the dial.
