This Flightmaster is in overall great, honest vintage condition. The case is strong with scratches and some wear, it has been polished. The caseback shows some wear, but the "sunburst" finish and "flightmaster" logo and text are still visible. The caseback is also engraved, "Mike Sackley L.A. 72." The paint is missing from the chronograph pushers and the crown located at eight o'clock. The internal rotating bezel has aged and shows some wear/fading from 40 - 60. The dial is in good condition and has developed light patina with some marks throughout that can be hard to notice, depending on the lighting. The edge of the sub-dials show some wear. The lume on the dial has aged to a pale yellow color and has developed dark patina, some of the plots show signs of degradation. The hands have developed patina and the lume in the hands has darkened.
Omega produced the Flightmaster for less than 10 years, it came out in 1969 and was discontinued around 1977. The collection was developed as a navigational tool for pilots and other world travelers, including the crew of the Concorde British Airways and Soviet Cosmonauts. During its production, two generations came to market distinguished by either the caliber 911 or 910 movement. Omega only made four different models of the Flightmaster; the ref. 145.013, ref. 145.026 like the watch here, ref. 145.036, and solid gold ref. BA 345.0801.
This example is in overall nice, honest condition and comes with it's original papers which is uncommon for these in general. We got this watch directly from the original owner, whose name is on the papers and on the caseback engraving - we love getting these fresh to market watches!
