Description: Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional
Pre-owned Omega Speedmaster ref 310.30.42.50.01.001 is a space exploration and horology icon. Its path to watchmaking infamy largely began in 1965, when NASA deemed the Speedy qualified for all manned space missions in 1965. A few years later, the Speedmaster would accompany astronauts during the first lunar landing, earning it the impressive nickname, Moon Watch. Ref. 310.30.42.50.01.001 is a modern interpretation of the history-making watch, featuring many of the same design elements, including a similar case shape as the 4th generation Speedmaster that explored the lunar surface, a shuttle-friendly Hesalite crystal (because it doesn't shatter like sapphire), a manual-winding mechanical movement, and a "Dot Over 90," - aka "DON" - bezel. However, the movement is now the next-generation caliber 3861 Master Chronometer movement.

I've wanted a Moonwatch for over 20 years since I saw one in a space magazine in elementary school. I finally own one and couldn't be happier. Using the NATO strap until I can get several links removed from the metal band, but oddly enough I actual really like the NATO strap...
