Rolex "Turn-O-Graph" Thunderbird - 116263
The Thunderbird Turn-O-Graph bezel was the first of its kind when it was introduced in 1953. It introduced the watch world to the first ever rotating bezel and was the first known pilots watch. Shortly after its debut, a handful of sports watches were introduced by Rolex as well and utilized the revolutionary design of the graduated rotating bezel as a means for measuring increments of time. The contemporary reference 116263 that is offered here today pairs an 18 karat yellow gold Turn-O-Graph bezel with a two-tone Jubilee bracelet made with 904L stainless steel, yellow gold center links, and a concealed Crownclasp. A sturdy 36mm Oyster case with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a waterproof Twinlock screw-down crown creates the perfect seal for the COSC certified 3135 perpetual movement within. A white dial tops the case and it set with yellow gold index hour markers, a date aperture with a magnifying Cyclops lens, sweeping hands, and a distinct red seconds hand.
