Description: Rolex Daytona 16523 Zenith Movement
Pre-owned Rolex Daytona Ref 16523 (1990) boasts a handsome steel and gold finish, allowing collectors to invest in a gold Daytona watch without the price of an all-gold Rolex. However, it's what's inside this Rolex that really piques the interest of collectors in the know. Reference 16523 is powered by the Zenith "El Primero" cal. 4030 movement. When the Daytona hit the market in the 1960s, it was powered by a hand-wound movement. It was eventually replaced by the first self-winding Daytona movement via the "El Primero." This movement was outsourced to Zenith and then modified in-house to remove the date mechanism. As the first automatic Daytona, the Rolex Zenith ref. 16523 has since become a cult favorite among loyal collectors.

This is my third purchase from Bob's, and, as with the previous two, the experience could not have been better.
