During the height of the Quartz movement craze, Rolex developed several variations of their classic timepieces equipped with quartz movement. Also known as the "Quartz Crisis," the demand for watches powered by Quartz movements threatened to topple the Swiss watchmaking industry. To remain relevant, many companies developed their own Quartz timepieces. The ref. 17013 is the Datejust variation and pairs a classic 36mm Oyster case, fluted bezel, and dial topped with a jump date with signature Rolex Quartz watch features, such as an integrated bracelet and an angular case. The case and bracelet are offered in a striking two-tone stainless steel and 14 karat yellow gold finish, creating a bold yet versatile statement piece that many preowned Rolex collectors seek.
