Pre-Owned Rolex GMT-Master 16760 - "Fat Lady Coke"
The very first GMT Master II debuted in 1983 alongside ref. 16760. Similar to its cousin the GMT Master, this model was equipped with a 24-hour bezel and a dedicated hand on the dial. The main difference between the two models was the addition of a brand new calibre movement that included a newly independent GMT hand on the dial. This upgrade allows the wearer to adjust the GMT hand without disturbing the current time, thus allowing the wearer to read a third time zone. Also referred to as the Sophia Loren or Fat Lady, the preowned Rolex 16760 is noticeably thicker than the references that succeeded it, an attribute that is a direct result of the new movement. The ref. 16760 also boasts a desirable red and black Coke bezel and a dial topped with Tritium lume in white gold surrounds.
